Hunter Akemon English Period 5 Mrs. Teacher The world in general, and especially in the United States, consumes a lot of energy. This has been known for a very long time. We have used fossil fuels, nuclear power plants, and other traditional means to make energy. Recently, many parties, including environmentalist parties, have said that we should use more environmentally friendly ways to produce energy. Which solution is right is debatable, but one thing is certain: Finding a solution to the problem is critical. There are many arguments and points to each side of this debate. Some argue that alternative power sources, or green energy, like windmills and solar panels are the best method to use. Others would say that the infrastructure already in place to harvest fossil fuels and take advantage of water using dams is the best option. However, I think that the United States should do more to actively develop and use â€Å"green energy† as this option, though expensive, is the most conservatively responsible option. For instance, while some would say that solar energy take up too much space and ruins the landscape when implemented in large scale, solar panels do provide clean and renewable energy for cities, buildings, and homes. They capture sunlight and generate electricity. Solar panels do not use any fuel or gas, and they do not produce gasses that can ruin the fresh air we breathe.
